Welcome back to Forest Notes, a wildlife diary filmed with trail cameras in a European forest.
Episode 6 follows the forest in mid summer, when young animals begin exploring beyond their nests and dens.
The fox cubs rarely return to the den now, spending more time discovering the forest on their own. Nearby, families of green woodpeckers, Eurasian jays, and great spotted woodpeckers are raising their young. During the hot summer days, I created a small waterhole which attracted many different species, from red squirrels and blue tits to hedgehogs, beech martens, roe deer, and even a curious fox cub.
Discover interesting animal behaviour, recurring individuals, trail camera placement, and the changing seasons of this little forest.
